I plan to keep this on my tablet, it's fun to read, but it would take more time to convert the recipes then it would to google the equivalent in a modern version.

Being the sheaf I am I always look for different styles and not just the classic which everyone knows, I came across this while browsing the cheap section on and I got to say it's an ice read, very creative
Like so many of these public domain cookbooks, there isn't much of a practicality to them. I imagine we could follow the recipes (the curry spice blend looks very good indeed), but these books are more cultural. In this title the chatty author answers questions about food habits overseas for American missionaries and how foods compare here and there.
This has become my go to book for cooking Indian food. The recipes are deceptively simple. And the results - amazing. Some of my husband's favorite recipes are now from this book. I've learned a lot about cooking from it.
