Emily’s job is to find out what businesses are doing wrong, and tell them how to do it better—but at BruCom everything is perfect…including its irresistibly handsome owner, Mark Brume. With his immaculately tailored physical presentation and intensely blue eyes, Mark draws Emily to him like a moth to a flame—but he leaves her feeling unsure. She can’t tell whether he is being professionally courteous, or something more flirtatious…that is, until he invites her to an awards ceremony where he makes his intentions perfectly clear.
That one night will change everything Emily thought she knew about being with a controlling, dominating, and drop dead sexy businessman. The question is, is Emily ready to submit to him and her own urges?

This ebook contains very hot and explicit descriptions of romantic activity. Only mature readers should download this book.

Obey edition by Lucia Jordan Literature Fiction eBooks

nope, didn't like it, sorry. and I especially didn't like how Mark introduced Emily into the BDSM. How did he know she was a sub? from reading a few other books of this nature, that's not how it's done. and his assumptions on their relationship, WHAT relationship? AND it's a cliffhanger or serial which I don't do. Sorry folks, I have a few books by this author and if they are serials, I can put them on tbr later pile or just delete them. (they were free-ty) I will comeback later if my view has changed.

Obey edition by Lucia Jordan Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

The first book in the Obey series by Lucia Jordan was okay. If you've enjoyed others series by Lucia Jordan, you might find this first book a little lacking like I did. Now don't get me wrong, I can't say I hated it, but I can't say I loved it either. It's somewhere in the middle. Will I finish reading the series, I'm not really sure yet. But again if you like Lucia Jordan's writing style you may like it.
This was one of my favorite Book 1's that Lucia Jordan has penned. What made this one special in my opinion was the main character, Emily is a competent, highly regarded professional. So often the heroine is a new employee, the hero's personal assistant. I have a hard time relating to those heroines.

She had no problem stating and defending her position in her meeting with Mark. Even better, Mark acknowledged her expertise and was willing to change his initial opinion on certain aspects of the report. Their chemistry was off the charts. Emily wasn't made to look naive, she knew what she wanted. Ms. Jordan nailed this one and hope she continues to include professional heroines in the future.
A not a very believable story about a contract employee turned into the company owners Submissive. The character development is sketchy at best. The instant proposition to become the company owners Submissive with little to no previous interaction doesn't seem very realistic. The sex scene description is not very exciting. Not up to the writing in some of her other stories.
Since this is book one in a series, it's hard to make any conclusions regarding the story or character development. That being said, this book certainly makes me want to know what's next. The premise is not unique, but it has a interesting slant. I like that Emily is a strong, smart professional woman not some beaten down girl. I'll get back to you when I finish the series, but I anticipate enjoying it throughly.
This is the first book I have read from this author. Actually I would not have picked it if it were not for a growing interest in the Dom/Sub life style. I do not know the time line of when this book was written and when 50 shades of gray came out, but the plot seems similar. The character development is lacking in this first book. Not much more than a paragraph when you combine all of the statements describing both of the main characters. While as an escapist read it works. Reality is, he would likely have been arrested for sexual harassment at the least in the real world. You will understand this statement better when you read the book. Watch out though, it is addicting. I just purchased the entire series.
As with most of Jordan's books, it's a very short read. They all have cliffhangers to make you want to read the rest of the series. I'm just disappointed that this one jumped right into BDSM after meeting Emily an hour. Mark is so sure she will except after he explains, and it was way too short for me. I still think 2 books can be combined into one or even have the series in one book. Sorry, but that's just my opinion as with all her books.
I have to be honest. I HATE cliffhangers. When I encounter a cliffhanger, I normally pass. Lucia Jordan is one of the only authors that leaves me wanting the rest of the story. She pulls you in from the very beginning, and at that last page, she leaves you holding your breath wondering about what comes next.

Mark and Emily have chemistry. He invites her to an awards ceremony, but catches her off guard. She is not sure if it is a date or the acknowledgment of the work she has done for his company.

She soon finds out. She is drawn into a world that leaves her slightly off balance. Then the"craziness" begins.
